Area football teams will open preseaseon this weekend

High school sports enthusiasts can breathe easy this weekend. Football is finally back.

Eastland County’s five high school football teams will officially begin their preseason schedules this Friday by participating in scrimmages. In fact, all five will be within easy driving distance.

The Eastland Mavericks, fresh off their intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, will begin their preseason schedule on Friday when they face off against Tolar at Maverick Stadiu, The scrimmage will begin at 7 p.m.
