Life-time Eastland County resident, Joy Lynn Craven Maynard turned 90 years young on July 4, 2023! Family and friends helped her celebrate this occasion at First Presbyterian Church, which was her family’s church home when she was born. Joy Lynn “Firecracker Punk” as her daddy (Howard “Shorty” Craven) called her, has three children (Howard (Susie Sneed), Diana (Grady Gregory), and Nancy Lynn (Michael G. Jones). All three children and their spouses were EHS graduates (and high school sweethearts!). Joy is a proud granny to seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
The party was on Saturday, July 1 and Joy claims the wonderful rain that poured out that day as a special gift! The party was planned and designed for Joy by Sarah King Sellers of Bellaflora Designs and it was wonderful: beautiful floral arrangements, scrumptious cupcakes and cookies, and delicious lemonade. Everything was perfect.
Nancy and her family spent the weekend at the fabulous Eastland Historic Hotel and it was awesome! We will be going back and highly recommend it to anyone needing a great place to stay in Eastland!
