Rain and sunshine certainly are natures miracle grow combination. I think I need to mow my yard almost once a week. New trees and flowers are growing at a rapid pace as well. Vegetable gardens are producing some beautiful squash, tomatoes, and everything else! I especially appreciate those folks with gardens that share!
That said, we have begun issuing summons for property violations. If you have never received a summons or a previous warning the judge may give you some time to correct the violation instead an immediately fine. However, if you have received a warning previously, you may be fined with no warning. These fines are not a source of budgeted income for the city. We just want property owners to comply with the city property ordinance NO. 2021-07-01. Basically, the ordinance addresses: overgrown yards and lots, refuse, junk, unregistered vehicles, safety hazards, fire hazards, and rodent problems. There are other ordinances that have to do with the structural condition, abandonment, and other various unacceptable property conditions. The bottom line is, please be a responsible property owner! Thank you!
In case you haven’t noticed we have a new donut shop on Highway 6. I can attest to the fact that they are excellent. They are open from 5:00am until 10:00 am Tuesday through Saturday or until they run out of donuts. Check them out on Facebook.
