Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant, Marc A. Couch, reports that an accident occurring on July 4th in Eastland County seriously injured both the driver and passenger of a golf cart, who were care flighted to Fr. Worth.
The report reads as follows: “Vehicle 1 (2013 Ford Fiesta) was traveling S. on Fm 2461 approaching CR 542. Vehicle 2 (Golf Cart) and Vehicle 3 (2017 Chev. Silverado) were on CR 542 stopped at the intersection with FM 2461. Vehicle 2 was in front of Vehicle 3. Vehicle 1 failed to negotiate a curve due to traveling at an unsafe speed as it approached CR 542. Vehicle 1 traveled off the right side of FM 2461 and traveled towards Vehicles 2 & 3. Vehicle 1 struck Vehicle 2 ejecting the driver and passenger. Vehicle 1 ran over Vehicle 2 and struck Vehicle 3. The driver and passenger of Vehicle 2 were care flighted to JPS in Ft. Worth with serious injuries. The driver of Vehicle 3 was taken to Eastland Memorial by EMS. The driver of Vehicle 1 was not injured. Three passengers in Vehicle 1 were taken to Eastland Memorial by personal conveyance.
