Cisco Writers Club sponsors a writing contest each summer. This is its 47th year. Should you enter contests in general and this contest in particular? Contests always flex your writing muscles, so that’s a plus. But beyond that, winners get bragging rights, their author names publicized, and, in this case, monetary awards. I’d shy away from contests that charge an arm or a leg, but the Cisco Writers Club contest fees are extremely reasonable at just $5 each.
CWC is accepting entries until midnight, July 31st, with $1,500 up for grabs. This could be a key component to advancing your writing career, as it has been for others.
