Grady Galyean pushed in 20 points and Isaiah Hays and Laike Kennedy both added double-digit efforts on Friday and spurred the Eastland Mavericks to a nail-biting 58-55 victory over the Dublin Lions in front of a large crowd in the EHS gymnasium.
The win enabled the Mavericks to snap a 4-game losing streak and, more important, move to 2-3 in District 8-3A play heading into Friday’s showdown with Peaster.
Dublin didn’t make the win easy for the Mavericks. The Lions hit several big shots in the final 4 minutes of the first quarter and built a 5-point lead, at 19-14.
