MayDell Petree Obituary

MayDell Petree left this life during the early morning hours Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the age of 84.
MayDell was born October 10, 1938 in Carbon, Texas to Joe and Lula Hogan Petree.  She attended Carbon Schools, where she was a star basketball player.  She grew up picking cotton and peaches, and later in life worked at Boss Glove Factory.  She worked at the hospital in Eastland for 27 years.
MayDell was a fun, loving lady who made a friend out of everyone she met. They became family immediately and created lifelong friendships. She loved Jesus with all of her heart, and was in the MTC church 55 years. She read the Bible through for decades, even into her last years. She was a member of the MTC Senior Group.  She loved sports and, of course, loved the Loboes.  MayDell was feisty and one of a kind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bonnie Fay Petree and brothers Joe Lee Petree and Thomas Petree.
Survivors include sister Murl Johnson, brother Burl Petree and wife Donnie, sister Betty Jones and husband John; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday, May 26, 2023 at Mountain Top Church with Phil Green officiating.  Burial was  at Longbranch Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to Open Door or The Blessing Box.
